Beware of Mesothelioma Scams
Many people who have developed mesothelioma or will develop it in the future
were exposed to asbestos while in the military, particularly, the U.S.
Navy. At a time when our veterans should be most honored and cared for,
many people are targeting them for mesothelioma
scams. If you are a veteran of the military or a family member of a veteran,
beware of solicitations claiming to get you money after a mesothelioma
diagnosis or even supplements to relieve or even cure mesothelioma.
VA Pharmacy Scams
Some veterans have reported receiving calls and other forms of solicitations
from people claiming to be with the VA Pharmacy. The caller would ask
the veteran for their billing information so their prescriptions could
be updated. These types of solicitations are a scam and something veterans
and their families should be aware of.
Mesothelioma Supplement Scams
Some veterans reported getting solicitations touting the benefits of various
supplements for treating and managing pain associated with mesothelioma.
Mesothelioma is an aggressive form of cancer that cannot be treated by
supplements, particularly non-FDA regulated substances. If you have received
a solicitation about a mesothelioma supplement, beware and contact your
doctor if you have questions.
