Worthington & Caron is pleased to announce that it will again serve as lead sponsor for the
6th Annual 5k Walk/Hike for Mesothelioma on Sunday, October 22nd, 2017 at the iconic old Hollywood saloon town of Paramount Ranch in Agoura
Hills. The event is family and dog friendly, so bring your little ones
and furry friends!
The event is hosted by
The Pacific Mesothelioma Center (PMC) at the Pacific Heart, Lung & Blood Institute (PHLBI), with 100%
of proceeds supporting PMC’s much-needed research for a cure for
mesothelioma. To date, PMC has raised over $5 million in the campaign
to fund new research in the fight against mesothelioma.
Last year’s event raised over $121,000. Since its inception, just
under $500,000 has been raised for mesothelioma research. With your help,
we hope to raise $150,000 at this year’s event, over $62,600 has
already been raised towards that goal!
“The goal of the 5K Walk for Meso began as a means to raise funds
and awareness for mesothelioma and throughout the years has fostered a
community," Clare Cameron, Executive Director of PMC and organizer
of the event said. “The PMC walk unites this community with the
knowledge that, we, the sufferers of mesothelioma friends and families,
walk with them through this battle both figuratively and literally.”
Registration is $45 per person and participants will receive a t-shirt,
enjoy live entertainment by The Six Billion Dollar Band, and a lunch catered
by Italia’s Deli. As in years past, there will be a raffle and silent
auction offering
GREAT prizes!
Actor Larry Wilcox, known for his role as "Officer Jon Baker"
on the hit TV show CHiPS, will be the emcee for this year's event.
Larry is a longtime supporter of PMC. For the last four years, he has
ridden a CHiPS police motorcycle in PMC's "Greatest Escape"
motorcycle rally fundraiser. We are looking forward to Larry taking center
stage as emcee at this year’s Walk!
The 6th Annual Walk/Hike for Meso will take place on October 22nd, 2017 at the Paramount Ranch located at 2903 Cornell Road, Agoura Hills,
CA 91301. Registration will open at 9 a.m., with the walk/hike beginning
at 10 a.m. You can walk as an individual, or start a team.
